What F2-16 / F3-16 Means
F2-16 and F3-16 on DCS WOSV230 and WODV230 ovens mean the cavity is not heating up: the sensor sees no change in temperature. The service manual says it takes at least 10 minutes in Bake from a cold oven for this error to trip, and that certain load configurations can set it off.
Common Causes of F2-16 / F3-16
- Thermal limiter tripped, cutting power to the elements
- Bake or broil element failed open
- Element relay on the power board not switching
- Cavity sensor reading a fixed value
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Note what was in the oven and which mode was used when it happened; a very large, cold load can slow the rise. Try Bake on an empty, cold oven. If it still shows F2-16 or F3-16, a heating circuit is out and the oven needs service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The thermal limiters are manual-reset devices under the oven’s top panel, and one that trips repeatedly means something is overheating and must be found.
- Checking each element is done through the technician test mode with the oven powered.
