What F2-17 / F3-17 Means
F2-17 and F3-17 on DCS WOSV230 and WODV230 ovens mean the door lock is not in its unlocked position when it should be. The oven will not let normal cooking go ahead on a door it believes is still latched.
Common Causes of F2-17 / F3-17
- Thermal limiter tripped, cutting power to the lock motor
- Lock motor stalled with the latch out
- Unlock position switch or its connector failing
- Lock relay on the power board not switching
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
If the oven just finished a clean, let it cool fully with power on. If the door is actually free but the code shows, the lock’s position switch is misreading. Either way, book service if the code does not clear after the oven is cold.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The lock is driven by a small motor through a cam, and forcing the latch by hand strips it.
