What SH / EH Means
SH and EH are not errors. On the current DCS RF24RE4 / RF24LE4 refrigerators and RF24TR2 / RF24TL2 / RF24BTR2 / RF24BTL2 beer dispensers, holding the minus key and the light key together for five seconds switches Showroom Mode. The display shows SH for two seconds on the way in and EH for two seconds on the way out. In Showroom Mode the light and display work normally but the compressor and fans are not powered, so the unit looks alive and never gets cold.
Common Causes of SH / EH
- Unit shipped or displayed with Showroom Mode left on
- Keys pressed together during cleaning, switching the mode by accident
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
If the display ever showed SH, or the unit lights up but stays warm, hold minus and the light key for five seconds again and watch for EH. Then give it a few hours. If EH appeared and the cabinet still does not cool, the problem is elsewhere and worth a service call.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Nothing to repair while the mode is on; the risk is replacing parts on a unit that was simply told not to cool.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
