What CLEAN Means
CLEAN on the DCS RF15I ice machine display is a maintenance reminder, not an error. DCS sets it to appear every six months so the water system gets descaled and sanitized. Ice production continues while it shows, and once cleared or reset it will not appear for another six months.

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Follow the cleaning section of the guide: turn the machine off, drain the reservoir through the black plug, run the Clean Mode from the MENU with a DCS-approved “nickel safe” ice machine cleaner, and let it finish. Hard water areas and outdoor dust mean six months is a maximum, not a target.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The cleaning cycle itself is owner maintenance. The job for a technician starts when harvests stay slow or cubes stay thin after a proper clean, which usually means scale in the water valve or a weak pump.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
