What DOOR Means
The DOOR indicator on the DCS RF15I ice machine lights and flashes, with a tone, when the door has been open or not fully closed for five minutes. The tone can be muted with the LOCK key, and the alarm resets when the door closes or when ON/OFF is pressed briefly. DCS warns that it comes back five minutes later if the door is still ajar.
Common Causes of DOOR
- Door left ajar after scooping ice
- Ice scoop or packaging trapped in the door opening
- Unit out of level so the door does not swing shut
- Door switch or magnet not detecting a closed door
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Close the door and make sure the ice scoop or a bag is not caught in it. A slightly open door on an ice machine is expensive: warm air melts the stored ice, the machine refills and harvests constantly, and the drain works overtime. If the door is shut and DOOR keeps flashing, the door switch needs checking.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Replacing the door switch means removing the door and the top trim of the cabinet, which is fiddly on a built-in unit.
