What Lo Means
Lo is the cold-side twin of Hi. On DCS RF24RE / RF24LE refrigerators and RF24T / RF24BT beer dispensers it flashes when the compartment has stayed 10 degrees or more below the set point for more than an hour. Outdoors that can mean frozen cans, a frozen keg line or glass bottles that crack.
Common Causes of Lo
- Very low outdoor temperatures pulling the cabinet below its set point
- Set point changed to the coldest setting by accident
- Temperature sensor reading warm, so the compressor keeps running
- Control relay holding the compressor on
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check the set temperature by holding SET; the refrigerator range is 34 to 42°F and the beer dispenser 34 to 46°F. Winter matters here: an outdoor refrigerator in freezing weather can fall below set point because the air around it is colder than the cabinet. If the season is mild and the setting is normal, the thermostat side of the control needs checking.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A compressor that will not cycle off means a stuck relay or a sensor reading error, which is diagnosed at the control with the unit powered.
- Moving the unit into a garage for winter without following the DCS winterization steps can leave water in the drain and beer lines to freeze.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
