The BH1-30-N is the compact Series 7 grill with no rotisserie. A knob that turns freely without changing the flame usually means the knob has split where it grips the valve stem; that is a cheap part. A valve stem that turns but will not close fully is a different matter and needs a licensed technician.
On compact grills grease has less room to go, so cleaning the channels and tray is more frequent maintenance.
