The BE1-48C-N is the 48-inch Series 9 without a rotisserie, which leaves more grate width and fewer electrical parts in the hood. Repairs on it are mostly about burners and valves: stiff knobs after a wet winter, and slow-lighting burners where insects have nested in the venturi tubes.
If there is a gas smell, DCS’s first check is a dial left on with an unlit burner; wait five minutes before relighting. A smell that persists with every dial off is a leak and a job for a licensed technician with the supply shut off.
