The BE1-48RCI-N is the fullest version of the 48-inch Series 9: main U-burners, an infrared sear burner and a rotisserie, all in one hood. On this grill the infrared sear burner is the part that ages fastest, because fat dripping onto its ceramic face burns in and blocks the tiny ports that make it glow evenly.
Series 9 dials light with a white or orange ring, so part of any visit is sorting out whether a dark dial means a lighting problem or a burner problem. We check the 120-volt supply, its fuse and the GFCI before anything on the gas side.
