What A2 Means
A2 on DCS WOSV230 and WODV230 wall ovens is a door lock alert: the self-clean cycle was started but the door could not be locked. The oven will not run a pyrolytic clean on an unlocked door, so the cycle does not proceed.
Common Causes of A2
- Door not fully closed or out of alignment with the lock slot
- Lock motor not turning
- Lock or unlock switch or its connector at the power board failing
- Lock relay on the power board not switching
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Cancel the clean and open and close the door firmly. Make sure the oven racks, a meat probe or anything else is not stopping the door from sitting flat against the seal. DCS also says a self-clean will not start with a probe plugged in. Try once more; if A2 repeats, the lock needs service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The lock assembly and its switches are above the cavity, and the service manual’s checks include the relay on the power board, all with the oven pulled forward.
