What F- Means
On DCS WO-series wall ovens, F followed by a dash (shown framed as -F--) is a communications error detected by the power relay board of the upper oven. It is the same broken link as FC, seen from the relay board’s side. The upper oven is canceled while it shows.
Common Causes of F-
- Communication cable between the relay board and interface board loose
- Upper oven power relay board failing
- Heat damage in the control box from a blocked cooling vent
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Reset power at the breaker once, with the oven cool. If the code comes back, note whether it shows as F- or FC; that detail helps pin down which board has lost the other.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The relay board switches the full element current, and working on it means disconnecting the oven’s 240-volt supply and pulling the unit forward.
