The GDE1-30-N is a dedicated griddle module. The steel plate spreads heat, but it can warp if water is thrown on it hot, and a warped plate rocks and heats unevenly. Cleaning it warm with a scraper and oil is gentler.
A zone that stays cold while the other side works usually means one burner under the plate is not lighting.
