The DRH-48N is DCS’s built-in infrared patio heater, mounted to a wall or overhead structure rather than sitting on a stand, and plumbed into a fixed natural gas line the same way a built-in grill would be. Because it runs on natural gas only, there is no tank to swap if it will not light — the gas supply, the igniter and the flame-sensing safety device are checked in that order.
A unit that lights and then shuts itself off within a few seconds almost always points at that flame-sensing part rather than the gas valve, especially if it has recently been cleaned, bumped out of position, or exposed to a stretch of windy weather. Weak heat output with a visible flame is checked at the emitter face and screen before the burner itself is suspected, since soot and corrosion buildup there is common on a unit that stays outside through every season.
