The WD1-30-SSOD is a simple appliance: a thermostat knob, a heating element and a power light. When the light comes on but the drawer stays cool, the element or the thermostat has failed, and each is tested with a meter.
DCS specifies a GFCI circuit for the outdoor version. A GFCI that trips as soon as the drawer turns on points to moisture or a damaged element leaking current, which is a reason to stop using it until checked.
